“I think there’s some magic in silliness, in plastic, sparkles, and even a neon sign proclaiming nothing important! My work leans into the cheap and tacky and wraps it in a colorful package. The weight lies in the rendering. Something happens when a plastic sequin is blown up to be a foot wide and painted with attention to each highlight and shadow.
My dream is that my work brightens days, energizes spaces, and resonates with some of you!”
Lily grew up in Fairfield County, CT and is delighted to have found her way back to the area in 2017. Lily teaches art full-time at a local high school, and she finds that working with students in the classroom is constantly informing her own art practice. In 2022-23 she had the privilege of being a Resident Artist at The Norwalk Art Space, where she taught free classes to middle school and high school students, while building her own studio practice.
Lily is currently completing her Master’s in Studio Practice with Teacher’s College at Columbia University and will graduate in Fall 2025.
